Access Outlook Web Access
Users on the College of Ag Sciences Exchange Server can access their email from anywhere that has an Internet connection. This is called Outlook Web Access.
It allows you to read, respond, and create email messages, view your calendar, tasks, and other aspects of your Outlook.
Refer to our How To Understand OWA browser window for more information on using OWA.

Fig. 1 - OWA Client and Security Options

Note: Under Client, leave the default choice of Premium selected to see all of the Outlook Web Access features. This window will look and feel like Outlook. The Basic choice provides fewer features than the Premium client but offers faster performance. Use the Basic client if you're on a slow connection.
Note: Under Security, leave the default choice of Public or shared computer selected when using OWA from a non-College of Ag Sciences EN machine. Examples: Shared Lab computers and computers in public locations like libraries or kiosks. Select the Private computer choice when using a College of Ag Sciences EN machine either in the office, on the road, or at home. You can also use this option on a non-EN, home-based machine. By selecting this security option, you acknowledge that you are the only person who uses this computer. In this case, the Exchange server will allow a longer period of inactivity before logging you off.
Note: To ensure security, the default Security choice will remain at Public or shared computer. You will need to select the Private computer choice each time you use OWA from your EN machine.
-
Under Client, the radio button should be set to Premium.
-
Under Security, the radio button may be left at Public or shared computer. If needed, you may set the radio button to Private computer.
-
Click OK.
-
Your Inbox and your email will now open in the web browser.

Troubleshooting tips
"Could not be logged on" error message. If you see this message, you should reenter the Username and password combination. Be sure that the Caps Lock key is not down. Be sure to include the ag\ before your username. And the username is only the Penn State Access Account or UserID (ex: vcv1). Do NOT add the @psu.edu to the Username when logging in.
You could not be logged on to Outlook Web Access. Make sure your domain\user name and password are correct, and then try again.
No error message. OWA Logon screen simply refreshes. When you enter your Username and password combination, nothing appears to happen. And you're sure you are entering the correct information.
