Use Pop-up blocker on a Windows XP SP2-based computer

Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) introduces new behavior in Microsoft Internet Explorer that affects web pages with pop-ups. You may find that when you click on a link to open it that it has been blocked by the Pop-up blocker. You will see the icon of a page with a red circle with a slash in the Information Bar in the lower right corner of the Internet Explorer window. This is the Pop-up blocked notification icon.

If this is a site you trust and need access to, you may allow this site access 'through' the Pop-up blocker by adding it to the Allowed Sites list. You may do this in two ways. Use either one or the other method listed below.

Note: To temporarily open link, you can right click the link and choose to Open in New Window; or, you may CTRL - click on the link.
