Install and Configure SAV Corporate Edition 9.x for Windows
Symantec AntiVirus can protect your computer from destructive programs known as viruses and Trojan horses, and can protect against malicious Active X and Java applets. Because of a contract between Penn State and Symantec, Symantec AntiVirus software is available at no cost to Penn State students, faculty, and staff.
Certain computers at University Park are managed by our Symantec Antivirus server. To see if you have a "managed" client, open the Symantec AntiVirus window on your computer. In the General Information section of the first screen, do you have anything listed next to Parent Server? If you do, then your machine is being managed and any new versions will be remotely upgraded for you. You do not need to follow these steps.
NOTE: If you have a machine with Windows 98, Windows ME, or Windows 2000 (less than Service Pack 4), you should follow these steps to install SAV version 9.0x.
