Color Appointments and Meetings Automatically

Sometimes it's nice to color code your calendar so you can keep track of things visually. In Outlook you can automatically color code appointments and meetings. For example if you want all your Food Safety meeting to be blue, you can do that without applying the label to each event.

  1. Click Calendar.
  2. Right-click on the calendar grid, and choose click Automatic Formatting
  3. Click Add.
  4. Enter a name for the rule.
  5. In the Label list, choose a color.
  6. Click Condition to specify the conditions under which the color will be applied.

For Help on an option, click the question mark and then click the option.

Note: If you manually assign a color to an item, automatic coloring cannot be used on that item.
