Saving an Excel Chart as a Web Page
One of the features of Excel is the ability to save a chart in HTML format.
How To Save an Excel Chart as a Web Page
-
Open the desired worksheet if it is not already open.
-
Make sure that all the work is saved.
-
Click the chart or the chart sheet that you want to put on a Web page. Or, you may select the cell range around the chart.
-
Office 2007 - From the Office button choose Save As and then select Other Formats. In Save as type choose Web Page.
Office 2003 - From the File menu choose Save as Web Page.
-
In the Choose box, select Selection: Chart.
-
To add a title to the saved worksheet, click Change Title, type the title you want, and click OK.
-
In the File name box, re-name the file if needed.
-
Locate the drive, folder, Web server, or FTP location where you want to save your worksheet.
-
Click Save.
Note:
The file that results from the Save process can now be uploaded to your web site. If using Dreamweaver, you can apply a Template to the page to help it conform to your site's look and feel. Do NOT try to clean up the HTML. This page is using a number of custom tags and hidden tags that must stay there for the chart to be displayed properly.
