Organize & Delete Favorites in IE v7

It is nice to organize your favorites so you can find them more easily the next time you use them. You can create folders to organize the favorites. You can rename the folders and/or the favorites to they make more sense. And it is even better to delete them when they no longer work or you no longer need that favorite.

How To Get Started

1. Open Internet Explorer 7.
   
   Note: If you don't see the "Menu Bar" that displays the old "IE6 File-Edit-View-Favorites-Tools-Help" choices, from the IE Tools (has a gear icon) menu, select the Menu Bar option.
   
   
2. From the Menu Bar's Favorites menu choose Organize Favorites.
   
   Note: From this Window you will see 4 buttons that allow you to create a New Folder, Move, Rename, and Delete.
   
   
3. Continue with the sections below.

How To Create a Folder

1. If needed, you should click to open any existing folders.
2. Click the New Folder button.
3. A new Folder appears.
4. Rename this folder to the appropriate name.
5. Press the Enter key.
6. Repeat as needed.
7. Click Close or continue with next section.

How To Rename a Folder or Favorite

1. Select a Folder or Favorite.
2. Click Rename button.
3. Rename this folder or Favorite to the appropriate name.
4. Press the Enter key.
5. Repeat as needed.
6. Click Close or continue with next section.

How To Move a Favorite to a Folder

1. Select a Folder or Favorite.
2. Click the Move button.
3. In the Browse for Folder window, select the folder that you want to move this Folder or Favorite. into.
4. Click OK.
5. Repeat as needed.
6. Click Close or continue with next section.

How To Delete a Favorite or Folder

1. Select a Folder or Favorite.
2. Click the Delete button.
3. At the Delete Confirmation windows, choose Yes.
4. Repeat as needed.
5. Click Close.
