Use a Picture or Symbol as a Bullet in Word 2007


In addition to formatting text, you can customize bullets for individual bullet points or for all the bullet points in a document. You can change a bullet’s font, style, and color or replace a bullet with a picture or symbol. 

 

Applying a Picture Bullet

  1. Select the list items for which you want to change bullet styles
  2. On the Home tab, Paragraph group, click the arrow to the right on the bullet command and select Define New Bullet option
  3. Click the Picture button to open the Picture Bullet dialog box
  4. To add a picture bullet from the list
    1. Scroll to and select the desired picture bullet
    2. Click OK twice and the bullet style is changed for all selected list item
  5. Or, to import your own picture bullet
    1. Click the Import button to open the Add Clips to Organizer dialog box
    2. From the Look in pull-down list, navigate to and select the desired picture
    3. Click the Add button and the picture appears in the list of picture bullets
    4. Scroll to and select the desired picture bullet
    5. Click OK twice and the bullet style is changed for all selected list items.

Applying a Symbol Bullet

  1. Select the list items for which you want to change bullet styles
  2. On the Home tab, Paragraph group, click the arrow to the right on the bullet command and select Define New Bullet option
  3. Click the Symbol button to open the Symbol dialog box
  4. From the Font pull-down list, select the desired font for your bullet
  5. From the scroll list, navigate to and select the desired bullet
  6. Click OK twice and the bullet style is changed for all selected list items
