Re-enter or Update Dreamweaver Password


 

If you use Dreamweaver for Web Development and access your folders via FTP, you need to delete and update the password in Step 6.

 

Note: If you use a "Mapped Drive" for your Web Development, you should do nothing. The mapped drive should reconnect automatically with the new password.




  1. Open Dreamweaver.

    Note: The following steps use Dreamweaver version 4. If you have another Dreamweaver versions, these steps may not match. Basically, you need to enter go to the Site Management window to redefine the site's login name.

  2. From the Site menu choose Define Sites.

    Note: You will need to repeat these steps if you have multiple sites defined!

  3. Select the appropriate Site folder on the left, click Edit.
  4. Under Category, select Remote Info.

  5. In the Login box:  enter AG followed by a slash and then your AG UserID. AG\userid
  6. Key Step: Delete the current saved password. Then re-enter your AG password.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Done to close the Define Sites box.
  9. Close and Re-Open Dreamweaver.

10/13/2008 Update: To use FTP from a non-PSU network back to Web-Server to upload files you must use the PSU VPN client to create a secure connection to the Penn State network. The use of FTP back to Web-Server from anywhere within a PSU or county network is fully functional.
