This How To will give you steps to forget your computers IP number and get a new one after the server is installed.

These should be done in County Server and 3Com counties.

This needs to be done ON EACH workstation computer.

1. Start menu to Run.
2. Type CMD and press OK.
3. Type ipconfig /release
   • This has to be EXACT.
   • There is a space between the g and the. /
4. Allow the computer to work.
5. You should see the IP number listed as 0.0.0.0.
   • There will be other numbers listed there as well.
   • If you recieve an error, please submit a Help Desk ticket - http://ict.cas.psu.edu/Support/contactform.asp
6. You will be at the cmd prompt again.
7. Type ipconfig /renew
   • Again, this has to be EXACT.
   • There is a space between the g and the /.
8. Allow the computer to work.
9. You should see the IP number listed as 192.168.xx.yy
   • xx will be your county code number.
   • yy will be a unique number for this computer.
   • There will be other numbers listed there as well.

10. Type Exit.
    • The command prompt window will close.
